I'm 23, a born *"alfacinha",* I had a happy childhood and good education by my parents. During my academic path I always followed the path of Sciences and was extremely curious, collected some prizes and went out to college to follow the major for "the curious ones": Physics! In particular, Engineering Physics, I like to get my hands dirty 😎
During my 2nd year, joined TEDxULisboa for 2 years, it was absolutely amazing and great growing experience! During the pandemic, me and **Sofia Grilo** founded Reboot a non-governmental organization.
"In Reboot, we commit to include the indifferent in solving the climate crisis"
The vision is to create a community focused on the same commitment, even if at different rhythms, all in the same direction. The commitment to restore our prosperous planet where the humanity can cohabit with Nature.
My name is Tomás Sousa, I'm 24 years old and I was born in Lisbon, at the turn of the century, I had a happy childhood and an even better education, given by my parents. Since I was young I showed a curiosity that was sometimes complicated to deal with, I always liked science and especially knowing how "things" were done.
My academic path to college was quite linear with a special time of participation in the club of robotics from my high school called “O Robot Ajuda!”, I learned how to deal with project management and mainly with real teamwork, we were winners of 1 international competition in 6 of the 7 categories and 2 national competitions.
Before starting the University, I decided to take the Interrail to discover the European environment, see art and get out of my comfort zone. During 34 days, I visited 19 cities with two friends and collected the best memories of my life.
I chose to study the Integrated masters on Engineering Physics at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. It seemed to me the best course to learn about how this universe moves, my childhood anxiety. I completed my degree with two research internships, leading the core of my student department (NFEF) and merit diplomas in 3 years. I spent my first semester of my first masters doing an Erasmus at the University of Ghent, Belgium, focusedI'm in the second semester of the first year of the . In a parallel universe of the academic came my interests in sharing knowledge and scientific education.
In 2018 I joined TEDxULisboa as Logistic Manager where I learned how to manage a large team and collaborate in the organization of a TEDx event. Still following the sharing of knowledge, I decided to work as a monitor at the Pavilion of Knowledge where I contacted the world of scientific dissemination and public service. In June 2020, I decided together with Sofia Grilo, who was enough pointing fingers on the climate issue, and we created Reboot, an association that includes everyone in the fight against climate change, making those indifferent to the topic commit to help in this problematic.
